I'm Gabriel (Gabe) Whitney, a film photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I shoot film for a look that doesn't date, and for control over the whole process, down to developing my own black and white.
My work moves between people, the streets of Salt Lake, and the Intermountain West. I'm drawn to the minute before something happens, or the minute after.
I travel abroad whenever I can. Some of my favorite work has come from those trips, in Japan, Georgia, Greece and Africa. Being somewhere unfamiliar makes me slow down and pay closer attention.
